The Fittonia is a low growing plant native to South America. The ‘nerve’ pattern on its coloured leaves are its selling point and they are an easy way to bring small splashes of interest to your collection. Perfect for closed terrariums as they love high humidity.

  • Will grow best in bright, indirect light, but can handle shadier spots too. Note the lower light will cause coloured plants to lose their colour and revert to green.

  • Keep soil evenly moist, but not soggy. Fittonia can be allowed to almost dry out between waterings. Use room temp water.

  • Loves a humid environment. Keep regularly misted and place on a pebble tray if possible.

  • Repot in a slightly bigger nursery pot to keep your plant growing, and prune to keep a more compact shape.
